Guildford to Dorking

Not The North Downs Way

Route map for Guildford To Dorking (NOT NDW) by Ron North on

A Walk Compiled by Ron North

I have walked at least 4 different routes from Guildford to Dorking, this is probably my favourite. Compared to the North Downs Way (which tends to be tree lined), this offers good views and a few pub stops. A direct rail link between Guildford and Dorking Deepdene makes this route readily accessible, a stopping service (Dorking Deepdene – Dorking West – Gomshall – Chilworth – Shalford – Guilford) also runs, BUT do check times.

My advice is not to treat this as a route march, but rather take your time and enjoy it!

Kew to Uxbridge

All buttons in the above are functional, after pressing play – give it a try!!

An easy 13 mile linear walk from Kew to Uxbridge, no hills or stiles (just a few pubs) . At the Start, I recommend a visit to the ‘London Museum of Water and Steam’ (Brentford): the beam engine is operational (BUT, check for dates).
